Now That You Understand Foundational VA Skills
Now that you understand what foundational VA skills are, the next step is simple:
Start learning them one after the other.
Inside 360 Freelance Hub, we will be picking these foundational VA skills step by step.
So today, you may see a video teaching on one skill.
Tomorrow, you may see another one.
Another day, we may recommend a YouTube video, a Udemy course, or another learning resource that can help you understand one of the skills better.
So for your own guided learning, you can always go through the Teaching Sessions inside 360 Freelance Hub.
You can also check the Resource Section for YouTube videos we have recommended.
You can look out for any Udemy course or learning resource we share that connects to any of the foundational VA skills inside our whatsapp Channel.
You can also use free online resources to learn these skills one after the other or pay for coaches teaching these skills.
But let me add this important warning.
Be careful before you join any training online just because it has “Virtual Assistant” or “VA” in the title.
Many people are teaching VA-related skills online, but not all of those trainings are foundational.
Some of them are advanced.
Some of them are niche-based.
Some of them assume you already understand the basic tools and how online work happens.
So it is now left for you to understand what foundational skills are, so you do not enter a class that is above your current level.
For example, someone may advertise a VA training, but what they are really teaching is automation, Airbnb support, advanced social media management, project management, or another deeper area.
Those trainings may be good, but they may not be where you should start if you do not already understand the foundation.
And the truth is, not every coach will explain this clearly.
Some people just want many people to enter their training.
So do not be a victim of joining a class too early and then feeling lost in the middle because you do not have the background knowledge you need.
You can save some of those trainings for later.
After you have built your foundational skills, you can go back and learn the deeper areas that interest you.
But if you are still new, focus on your foundation first.
Before you pay for any VA class, ask for the list of what they will be teaching.
Check if the training covers basic tools and foundational skills like Gmail, Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Forms, Google Calendar, online meetings, communication, file organisation, online research, data entry, Canva, basic customer support, and project management tools.
If the training does not include any of these foundational areas, please be careful.
It may not be a beginner-friendly foundational class.
It may be a niche or advanced class that you should take later.
As a beginner, your journey is straightforward.
Pick one foundational VA skill.
Learn it.
Practise it.
Then move to the next one.
Do not rush into every training because people are talking about it.
Do not jump into advanced skills before understanding the basics.
Build properly.
That is how you stop feeling lost.
That is how you start understanding job descriptions better.
And that is how you prepare yourself to choose a niche later with more confidence.
